For exceptionally meritorious service during the conduct of full spectrum operations in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom II . Captain Shea consistently displayed the mental acuity, physical toughness, and pure professionalism required to conduct successful combat operations against enemy insurgents throughout the Baghdad area of operations. Whether engaged in the close fight, rebuilding critical infrastructure or supporting those operations, Captain Shea contributed immensely to the success of the “Greywolf” brigade combat team. These actions bring great credit upon America’s first team – 1st Cavalry Division and the United States Army.
